Dean of Communications manages administrative functions of the college of communications. Develops college strategic initiatives and participates in university long-term planning and policy setting. Being a Dean of Communications leads college in fundraising and cultivating relationships with donors. Provides senior level administrative leadership in areas of curriculum development, institutional assessment and improvement, human resource, faculty development and performance appraisals, budget and finance, and facilities planning and management. Additionally, Dean of Communications requires an advanced degree. Typically reports to top management. The Dean of Communications manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function. To be a Dean of Communications typically requires 5+ years of managerial experience. · Diagnose, repair and install cellular, point-to-point, point-to-multipoint radios and microwave radio systems.· Networking and routing knowledge to include LAN, WAN, OSPF and BGP· Knowledge of layer 2 and layer 3 network protocols to include, Ethernet, ARP, IP, TCP, UDP, SNMP, IGMP, ICMP and DHCP· Knowledge of PLC/RTU communications protocols.· Diagnose, repair, and install antenna systems and RF filtering systems.· Construction of electrical panels based on blueprints and electrical schematics.· Diagnose, repair, and install DC and AC circuits.· Experience using MS Office 365 applications such as Excel, Word, Outlook, Sharepoint, etc.· Strong computer and documentation skills· Manage multiple assigned projects simultaneously, either individually or as part of a team.· Valid driver’s license· Occasionally lift heavy objections up to 100lbs.J & K offers competitive wages, a positive team environment and excellent benefits including: paid holidays, paid earned time off, medical, dental, and vision insurance coverage and 401(k) benefits.
