Develops college strategic initiatives and participates in university long-term planning and policy setting. Being a Dean of Continuing Education leads college in fundraising and cultivating relationships with donors. Provides senior level administrative leadership in areas of curriculum development, institutional assessment and improvement, human resource, faculty development and performance appraisals, budget and finance, and facilities planning and management. Additionally, Dean of Continuing Education requires an advanced degree. Typically reports to top management. The Dean of Continuing Education manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure.     Summary of Job Duties:The University of Arkansas Community College at Morrilton (UACCM) is seeking applicants for its vacant Academic Dean of General Education position.

    The Dean, working under the direction of the Vice Chancellor for Academics, is responsible for coordinating the instructional activities in their respective academic division, recruiting and hiring full- and part-time faculty, managing and evaluating the performance of full- and part-time faculty members (including concurrent faculty), monitoring departmental budgets and assisting in the development of budget and equipment requests, coordinating the assessment activities within the division, assisting in the preparation of new degree/certificate programs, coordinating the advisory committee meetings designated for departments within the division, scheduling and completing program reviews as assigned, and other duties as identified by the Vice Chancellor .

    The Deans perform their duties in cooperation with other administrators and in accordance with the policies of the College.Qualifications:

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Master's Degree

    • Five years of full-time teaching experience at the community college-level.

    • Three years of supervisory experience

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Master's Degree in Education, English, Social Science, History, or equivalent field

    • Seven years of full-time teaching experience at the community college-level.

    • Five years of supervisory experience

    • Previous documented experience with budget management and development

    • Previous documented experience with programmatic and student learning assessment

    Salary Range: $65,000 to $75,000
