Dean of Continuing Education manages administrative functions of the college of continuing education. Develops college strategic initiatives and participates in university long-term planning and policy setting. Being a Dean of Continuing Education leads college in fundraising and cultivating relationships with donors. Provides senior level administrative leadership in areas of curriculum development, institutional assessment and improvement, human resource, faculty development and performance appraisals, budget and finance, and facilities planning and management. Additionally, Dean of Continuing Education requires an advanced degree. Typically reports to top management. The Dean of Continuing Education manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function. To be a Dean of Continuing Education typically requires 5+ years of managerial experience.   • QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

    1.  Must possess a valid Washington State Teaching Certificate with Elementary Education and Special Education Endorsements.

    2.  Minimum of Bachelor’s Degree.

    3.  Must meet all State and Federal requirements.

     

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

    1. Early Childhood Education Endorsement.

    2. Experience with and or willingness to support inclusive practices.

    8.  Previous teaching experience preferred.

     

    JOB DESCRIPTION:

    1.  Work with and instruct students with disabilities to include students enrolled in our district and community early childhood programs.

    2.  Participate in MDT/IEP meetings and provide input.

    3.  Complete IEP’s as per state and federal regulations.

    4.  Conduct achievement and /or behavioral assessments within specified timelines.

    5.  Help develop student schedules with general education staff.

    6.  Provide consultation to general education staff on student accommodations and behavior management issues.

    7.  Supervise educational assistants.

    8.  Regularly communicate special education students progress/needs to parents and staff.

    9.  Communicate with school administration on student issues as needed.

    10.Participate in school faculty meetings and staff development workshops offered by the district. 

    11. Enforce and uphold all District and Program/Building policies, rules and regulations.

    12. Perform other duties assigned.

     

    SPECIFIC DETAILS

    Monday-Friday 7.5 hours for the remainder of the 2023-24 school year.
