Dean of Dentistry manages administrative functions of the college of dentistry. Develops college strategic initiatives and participates in university long-term planning and policy setting. Being a Dean of Dentistry leads college in fundraising and cultivating relationships with donors. Provides senior level administrative leadership in areas of curriculum development, institutional assessment and improvement, human resource, faculty development and performance appraisals, budget and finance, and facilities planning and management. Additionally, Dean of Dentistry requires an advanced degree of dentistry. Typically reports to top management. The Dean of Dentistry manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function. To be a Dean of Dentistry typically requires 5+ years of managerial experience. The Role
MSS instructional leaders combine the ability to coach and motivate teachers as they develop capacity and ability around instructional practices and content knowledge. At MSS, an Elementary Academic Dean has a growth mindset and participates in rigorous professional development throughout the year, including collaborative planning sessions, whole and small group school-wide focused professional development, team analysis of performance data; training from: Relay, Responsive Classroom, Eureka Math, Wit and Wisdom, and Wilson’s Fundations and other personalized opportunities to grow. Our Academic Deans provide job-embedded professional development for teachers to support and sustain effective teaching and learning through the integration of technology, resulting in improved student learning. They will assist teachers and participate directly in small group instruction to advance teacher’s/student’s literacy and math skills, provide feedback, and provide support.

\nThe salary for this role starts at $70,000 and is commensurate with experience. Academic Deans are also performance award eligible.
