Dean of Education manages administrative functions of the college of education. Develops college strategic initiatives and participates in university long-term planning and policy setting. Being a Dean of Education leads college in fundraising and cultivating relationships with donors. Provides senior level administrative leadership in areas of curriculum development, institutional assessment and improvement, human resource, faculty development and performance appraisals, budget and finance, and facilities planning and management. Additionally, Dean of Education requires an advanced degree. Typically reports to top management. The Dean of Education manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function. To be a Dean of Education typically requires 5+ years of managerial experience.       Experience:
      District 49 credits each year of verified full-time/full-year K-12 teaching experience up to 15 years.
      Work Schedule:
      197 Contracted Work Days
      Benefits:
      This position is eligible for benefits including group insurance (health, dental and vision), paid sick and personal leave and elective retirement savings plans. Benefit details can be found here.
      Salary: The minimum starting pay is $39,384*/year and the maximum salary is $62,988*/year. Initial pay placement is dependent on level of formal education and years of relevant administrative experience (the maximum credit granted is 15 years).
      • Salary reflects 2021-2022 pay schedule and is subject to change.
      • Salary will include 15% differential



      Interviews are site-based and not conducted by the Human Resources office.

      Qualifications and Expectations:
      • Bachelor’s degree plus additional coursework required for certification or licensure.
      • Degree in Early Childhood Education and/or Early Childhood Special Education or related areas with state license as a teacher ages 0-5 Early Childhood Education or Early Childhood Special Education.
      • Colorado Deptarment of Education Teacher License
      • Endorsement in Early Childhood Special Education required
      • Administrator’s License required
      Additional Qualifications Preferred:
      • Experience in programming for regular Early Childhood and Early Childhood SpecialEducation preferred.
