Dean of Engineering jobs in Newark, NJ

Dean of Engineering manages administrative functions of the college of engineering. Develops college strategic initiatives and participates in university long-term planning and policy setting. Being a Dean of Engineering leads college in fundraising and cultivating relationships with donors. Provides senior level administrative leadership in areas of curriculum development, institutional assessment and improvement, human resource, faculty development and performance appraisals, budget and finance, and facilities planning and management. Additionally, Dean of Engineering requires an advanced degree. Typically reports to top management. The Dean of Engineering manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function. To be a Dean of Engineering typically requires 5+ years of managerial experience.     You'll navigate behavioral crisis-intervention and acute behavioral issues, and you'll manage the school-wide behavior plan utilizing culturally responsive techniques.

    You’ll collaborate with teachers, students, and families to create and implement individual behavior plans.

    You’ll manage systems that support school initiatives that lead to academic success for our students (e.g., attendance systems, homework systems).

    You'll be highly present and visible during school hours, constantly ensuring the school has an inclusive and joyful school culture.

    You’ll model the school’s values and the standard for academic and personal excellence.
