Dean of Fine Arts manages administrative functions of the college of fine arts. Develops college strategic initiatives and participates in university long-term planning and policy setting. Being a Dean of Fine Arts leads college in fundraising and cultivating relationships with donors. Provides senior level administrative leadership in areas of curriculum development, institutional assessment and improvement, human resource, faculty development and performance appraisals, budget and finance, and facilities planning and management. Additionally, Dean of Fine Arts requires an advanced degree. Typically reports to top management. The Dean of Fine Arts manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function. To be a Dean of Fine Arts typically requires 5+ years of managerial experience. NYSSSA is hiring residential life counselors for the NYSSSA In-Residency Arts programs taking place at SUNY Fredonia. The 2024 summer programs offered are Visual Arts, Media Arts, and Theatre.

About NYSSSA:
Established in 1970, the New York State Summer School of the Arts Program has trained over 20,000 students since its inception. The In-Residency NYSSSA Program offers an immersive summer experience for high school artists. The 3-week summer program will take place at SUNY Fredonia and delivers robust pre-professional training, personalized coaching, and leadership development to qualified students across the state.
In this intensive program, students immerse themselves in their chosen artistic discipline, dedicating up to 14 hours a day for 6-7 days a week. The teaching staff is comprised of accomplished professional artists, companies, college professors, and teachers who impart their skills, knowledge, and enthusiasm to the future artistic talent of New York's high schools.
