Dean of Fine Arts manages administrative functions of the college of fine arts. Develops college strategic initiatives and participates in university long-term planning and policy setting. Being a Dean of Fine Arts leads college in fundraising and cultivating relationships with donors. Provides senior level administrative leadership in areas of curriculum development, institutional assessment and improvement, human resource, faculty development and performance appraisals, budget and finance, and facilities planning and management. Additionally, Dean of Fine Arts requires an advanced degree. Typically reports to top management. The Dean of Fine Arts manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function. To be a Dean of Fine Arts typically requires 5+ years of managerial experience.       MULTIMEDIA ARTS TEACHER

      General Scope of Responsibility
      The ISAAC teacher provides instruction in multimedia art to students. (The teacher can be certified in art, mathematics, ELA, science, or social studies)

      Relationship Within the Organization
      The Teacher is directly responsible to the principal, associate principal, or designee.

      Specific Responsibilities:
      • Supports ISAAC’s Core Values and Beliefs About Learning and the Vision of the Graduate
      • Utilizes expertise to revise the curriculum to meet the level of rigor for all students in a cultural and diverse classroom
      • Instructs students through lessons that are engaging and motivates all students to succeed in the National standards
      • Adapts material and methods to develop relevant sequential assignments and lesson plans that guide and challenge students
      • Develops lesson plans and supplementary materials compatible with ISAAC’s instructional philosophy and congruent with the goals of the school
      • Provides individualized and small group instruction to adapt the curriculum to the needs of each student and subgroups of students
      • Evaluates the academic and social growth of students, keeps accurate and appropriate school records, and other recordkeeping activities as necessary
      • Encourages students to think independently and to express original ideas
      • Promotes student discussion through the daily use of Accountable Talk
      • Evaluates each student’s progress in meeting the course standards
      • Establishes and maintains standards of student behavior needed to provide an orderly, productive classroom environment
      • Identifies student needs and cooperates with other professional staff members in assessing and helping students solve learning and health problems
      • Communicates with parents and SRBI Team on student progress
      • Supervises students in assigned out-of-classroom activities during the work day
      • Participates in faculty committees and engages in Professional Learning Community activities
      • Administers summative assessments in accordance with the curriculum and SDE requirements
      • Models professional and ethical practices and behaviors in all activities
      • Performs other duties as assigned

      Desirable Experience and Training
      • Classroom teaching experience and proven record of high achievement with middle school students preferred.
      • Bachelor’s degree from a competitive college or university; Master’s degree a plus.
      • Certification: Valid CT Certification (Can be certified in Elementary Education 305, Technology Education 047, Art 042, Science 234. 034, Social Studies 226, 026, English/Language Arts 215, 015, or Mathematics 029)
