Dean of Fine Arts manages administrative functions of the college of fine arts. Develops college strategic initiatives and participates in university long-term planning and policy setting. Being a Dean of Fine Arts leads college in fundraising and cultivating relationships with donors. Provides senior level administrative leadership in areas of curriculum development, institutional assessment and improvement, human resource, faculty development and performance appraisals, budget and finance, and facilities planning and management. Additionally, Dean of Fine Arts requires an advanced degree. Typically reports to top management. The Dean of Fine Arts manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function. To be a Dean of Fine Arts typically requires 5+ years of managerial experience. – Attend daily briefings with Admin
– Participate in Parent orientations
– Attend all Preparation meetings and Training
– Check-in with Educational Assistants before class
– Assist Educational Assistants in preparing equipment and materials for class
– Sign in students and manage attendance records
– Monitor halls during arrival, transitions, and dismissal
– Monitor classrooms during class instruction (float between classes as necessary)
– Monitor lunch break
– Escalate incidents and emergencies to security and admins
– Assist students with safety, health, or wellness issues and escalate when necessary
– Implement and model NJPAC culture and community standards
– Check-in with Educational Assistants after class
– Fill out the weekly Program report
– Support and provide direction for cast/students during student shares
– Stock and restock supplies as the semester progresses
– Take production notes, specifically for the movement of cast/artists
– Attend De-briefings with Admin
