Dean of Fine Arts manages administrative functions of the college of fine arts. Develops college strategic initiatives and participates in university long-term planning and policy setting. Being a Dean of Fine Arts leads college in fundraising and cultivating relationships with donors. Provides senior level administrative leadership in areas of curriculum development, institutional assessment and improvement, human resource, faculty development and performance appraisals, budget and finance, and facilities planning and management. The Dean is the chief academic and administrative officer of the School of Arts & Sciences, works in partnership with the Dean of the School of Applied Technology and the Dean of the School of Architecture, Management, and Engineering Technology, and reports directly to the Vice President for Academic Affairs. Responsible for oversight and leadership for the School and the General Education curriculum, the Dean manages a budget of about $3 million, 6 academic departments offering 25 programs at both the associate and bachelor's degree levels, and more than 70 faculty and staff. The school encompasses both traditional Liberal Arts disciplines - English & Humanities, Mathematics & Physics, Social & Behavioral Sciences ? as well as Professional disciplines - Agriculture & Veterinary Technology, Physical & Life Sciences, and Nursing. Working alongside the faculty in these programs, the Dean is responsible for leading the School in the development of a mission, vision, and goals related to program development, recruitment, retention, space, and technology needs. Additionally, the Dean interacts with our community college and industry partners, as well as donors, as we seek additional funding for the School through grants, partnerships, and philanthropy. The Dean serves as a member of the President's Council, Dean's Council, Retention Committee, Red Flag team, and the Academic Affairs Collaboration Team.
