Dean of Fine Arts manages administrative functions of the college of fine arts. Develops college strategic initiatives and participates in university long-term planning and policy setting. Being a Dean of Fine Arts leads college in fundraising and cultivating relationships with donors. Provides senior level administrative leadership in areas of curriculum development, institutional assessment and improvement, human resource, faculty development and performance appraisals, budget and finance, and facilities planning and management. Additionally, Dean of Fine Arts requires an advanced degree. Typically reports to top management. The Dean of Fine Arts manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function. To be a Dean of Fine Arts typically requires 5+ years of managerial experience.     Salary and Benefits

    The salary range is $42,103 - $91,215 (pro-rated based on FTE) depending on education/experience plus a generous benefit plan. (based on 23/24 Salary Schedule)

    About the Position

    Springfield Public Schools seeks outstanding candidates for the position of High School Fine Arts teacher at the Academy of Arts & Academics (A3) High School.  To support this work, successful candidates will possess the following characteristics that support our vision of Every Student, Every Day and share our values:

    Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

    • Knowledge and experience with high school-aged students;
    • Strong understanding of multi-tiered systems of support (MTSS) for academics and social/emotional/behavior
      • Knowledge and experience working in a school or district that implements the concepts of Response to Intervention (RtI);
      • Knowledge of school-wide Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports (PBIS);
    • Demonstrated understanding of, and responsiveness to, the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, gender identity, sexual orientation, and ethnic backgrounds that characterize a K-12 school community in a manner specific to the position;
    • Strong student relationship building skills and the ability to establish a sound system of classroom routines and management;
    • Establishes effective, collaborative working relationships with diverse staff, student and community populations;
    • Ability to effectively manage and supervise students and their work;
    • A computer science background is preferred, but not required.

    Minimum Qualifications

    • A valid state of Oregon teaching license with an Art endorsement;
    • Successfully pass fingerprinting, criminal, Oregon Department of Education, and TSPC background checks.
