Dean of Graduate Programs manages administrative functions of the graduate program. Develops college strategic initiatives and participates in university long-term planning and policy setting. Being a Dean of Graduate Programs leads college in fundraising and cultivating relationships with donors. Provides senior level administrative leadership in areas of curriculum development, institutional assessment and improvement, human resource, faculty development and performance appraisals, budget and finance, and facilities planning and management. Additionally, Dean of Graduate Programs requires an advanced degree. Typically reports to top management. The Dean of Graduate Programs manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function. To be a Dean of Graduate Programs typically requires 5+ years of managerial experience. Library Assistant

  • The library assistant supports the day-to-day operations of a small academic library in Chattanooga, TN. The Richmont Graduate University Library offers a mix of digital and in-person resources to support the educational and research goals of students, faculty, and staff counselors in both the Chattanooga and Atlanta area. The library assistant may also be cross-trained to fill in other positions as necessary. While the library assistant reports to the Chattanooga campus librarian, they are expected to be able to work autonomously on occasions when no other staff is present.

    The duties of the library assistant include, but are not limited to:

    • Working at the front desk to assist patrons
    • Collections research and development
    • Cataloging resources
    • Shelf-reading and inventory control
    • Managing graduate assistants
    • Fill inter-library loan requests
    • Compile bibliographies and provide research assistance

    The library assistant may be asked to coordinate with other library staff members to ensure off-hours coverage during the Spring, Fall, and Summer terms. The university is conducting a trial period of working Monday-Thursday from 9-5 starting August 15.

    Desired Qualifications:

    Bachelor’s degree (B.A. or B.S.) from an accredited 4-year institution.

    Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite.

    A willingness to cheerfully serve students and faculty, as well as public patrons.

    1-2 years of experience working in libraries or related settings (such as a school, college, museum, or other cultural heritage institution) preferred.

    Applicants currently working towards an M.L.I.S. or related degree will be given priority consideration.

    Willing to fill-in as needed in other related roles, such as serving at the front desk.

    Richmont Graduate University is a private, accredited (through CACREP), Christian university equipping students in the Atlanta and Chattanooga areas to serve their communities as clinical mental health professionals. Through Richmont’s Graduate School of Counseling, students work towards becoming certified as licensed professional counselors (LPCs), as well as pursue graduate certifications in specialties such as trauma counseling, marriage and family therapy, sex therapy, and addictions counseling. In addition to its School of Counseling, Richmont also offers M.A. programs in ministry, pastoral counseling, and spiritual formation and direction. Richmont also operates multiple counseling centers in both the Atlanta and Chattanooga areas in order to provide clinical mental-health care to clients.
