Dean of Humanities manages administrative functions of the college of humanities. Develops college strategic initiatives and participates in university long-term planning and policy setting. Being a Dean of Humanities leads college in fundraising and cultivating relationships with donors. Provides senior level administrative leadership in areas of curriculum development, institutional assessment and improvement, human resource, faculty development and performance appraisals, budget and finance, and facilities planning and management. Additionally, Dean of Humanities requires an advanced degree. Typically reports to top management. The Dean of Humanities manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure.     PURPOSE:  As Area Superintendent, responsible for planning, directing, coordinating, and budgeting for small projects involving the construction and maintenance of structures, facilities and systems.
     
    Responsible for:
    1. Managing small to medium size projects, 5 to 10 persons
    2. Conferring with senior management, supervisory personnel, owners, contractors, and design professionals to discuss and resolve matters such as work procedures, complaints, and construction problems
    3. Scheduling the project in logical steps in order to budget enough time required to meet deadlines
    4. Determining labor requirements and dispatching workers to construction sites
    5. Planning, organizing and directing activities concerned with the construction and maintenance of structures, facilities, and systems
    6. Interpreting and explaining plans and contract terms to administrative staff, workers, and clients
    7. Negotiating revisions, changes and additions to contractual agreements with architects, consultants, clients, suppliers and subcontractors
    8. Directing and supervising workers including delegating responsibilities to Superintendent I, Foremen and Technicians, and mentoring Technicians II and III in order to prepare them for promotion to the next career level
    9. Monitoring project budgets in order to ensure positive cash flow and to maintain profitability
    10. Inspecting and reviewing projects to monitor compliance with building and safety codes, and other regulations
    11. Evaluating Foremen and technicians
    12. Interface with engineering team to ensure design efficiency
    13. Interface with internal and external customers
    14. Read blue prints, schematics and statements of work (SOW)
    15. Ensuring PITCO build outs adhere to statements of work (SOW)
    16. Coordinate with field personnel and/or engineering team to discuss any potential installation issues 
    17. Inspect and review projects to monitor compliance with building and safety codes, and other regulations
    18. Suggest process improvements / cost saving measures
    19. Plan equipment and material needs to ensure on-time delivery
    20. Plan material location and storage to enhance project productivity
    21. Plan and obtain permits, badges and access requests in advance
    22. Plan and maintain manpower forecasts in relation to budget and schedule
    23. Plan and actively track work to ensure compliance with project schedule and budget
    24. Assist technicians with installation work as needed to maintain project schedule and budget
    25. Maintain organized and detailed project records (Daily Work Tickets, etc.)
    26. Provide Project Manager with weekly project status and schedule updates
    27. Interface with customers to address project status and/or customer concerns
    Specific position requirements are as follows:
    1. This position requires a High School diploma/ GED with 12 years of experience
    2. Experience in the Security Industry
    3. Managing small projects as a Project Foreman for 5 years
    4. Experience installing conduit, wiring systems
    5. Experience with head end programming of Access Control and Video Management Systems
    6. Common knowledge of basic Network Infrastructure
    7. Experience working with management systems such as scheduling, job cost reports, estimating, safety, documentation requirements, and quality control.
    8. Experience overseeing and approving monthly job cost updates, productivity reports, and quarterly cash flow projections
    9. Proficiency in the Critical Path Method (CPM) scheduling method and General Contractor Schedules
    10. Proven track record as a Lead Foreman; Mastery of Foreman Level III job responsibilities
    11. Must have a history of completing projects under the estimated hours
    12. Requires reliable attendance at customer site during work hours required by customer
    13. Requires the ability to work a flexible schedule that includes occasional nights and weekends
    14. This position may require extensive travel
    15. Certification in CCure 9000 Access Control System and/or Lenel Access Control System
    16. Certification in DVTel Digital Video Systems
    17. Graduate from a certified Apprenticeship Program
    18. CPR and First Aid
    19. Common knowledge of Biometric Systems
    20. Candidates must have ILR Level 4 Full professional proficiency in the English language
