The Department of English, Literature and Modern Languages in the School of Arts and Humanities at Cedarville University is accepting applications for an Administrative Assistant. This is a full-time (1733-hours), non-exempt, staff position.
The Department of English, Literature, and Modern Languages (ELML) Administrative Assistant provides day-to-day organization for ELML undergraduate programs and processes, assisting the department chair, faculty, adjunct faculty, and students.
Primary responsibilities include working with the Chair to coordinate day-to-day departmental operations, maintaining the department calendar, generating correspondence on behalf of the chair and the department, managing department phone inquiries; planning, organizing, and preparing materials for department events, faculty meetings, CU Friday events, student orientation, majors meetings, awards ceremonies, and special speakers; assisting with budget oversight including purchase orders, requisitions, budget transfers, credit card statements, and other financial processes; managing interoffice mail and printed department materials; organizing and maintaining department files; generating enrollment, faculty workload, and course scheduling reports; communicating with adjuncts regarding scheduling and contracts, organizing and proofreading course schedules for the department, organizing office inventory, interacting with students, and performing other tasks as required by the department.
