Additionally, Dean of Humanities requires an advanced degree. Typically reports to top management. The Dean of Humanities manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. MVCC is seeking to fill a full-time, ten-month Instructor position in the School of Humanities. Responsibilities include instruction for Humanities courses including, but not limited to, Art Appreciation, History of Art 1, and History of Art 2. Teaching faculty at MVCC have the primary responsibility of fulfilling the College mission of providing high-quality educational opportunities to meet the diverse needs of our students. Full-time faculty members teach contracted classes in accordance with established policies and guidelines. Courses may be taught in traditional classroom settings and over the Internet. This position may include both daytime and evening classes on our Utica and/or Rome campuses. Specific assignments will be made according to the academic qualifications and availability of the individual and the School needs. In addition to teaching Humanities courses, the position includes student advisement, committee responsibilities, curriculum development, and program/general education assessment activities.
Qualifications:
Master's Degree in Art History or related discipline required.
