Dean of Law manages administrative functions of the college of law. Develops college strategic initiatives and participates in university long-term planning and policy setting. Being a Dean of Law leads college in fundraising and cultivating relationships with donors. Provides senior level administrative leadership in areas of curriculum development, institutional assessment and improvement, human resource, faculty development and performance appraisals, budget and finance, and facilities planning and management. Additionally, Dean of Law requires a Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school. Typically reports to top management. The Dean of Law manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function. To be a Dean of Law typically requires 5+ years of managerial experience.     Job Summary:
    As a family law attorney, you will represent clients in legal proceedings pertaining to family matters. Your responsibilities will include providing legal advice, drafting legal documents, negotiating settlements, and representing clients in court. You will work closely with individuals and families to navigate complex legal issues and achieve favorable outcomes.

    Responsibilities:

    • Provide legal counsel to clients regarding family law matters, including divorce, child custody, child support, adoption, paternity, and domestic violence.
    • Conduct thorough legal research and analysis to develop case strategies and provide accurate advice to clients.
    • Draft legal documents such as petitions, complaints, motions, affidavits, agreements, and court pleadings.
    • Negotiate settlements and mediation agreements on behalf of clients, striving to achieve favorable outcomes while protecting their rights and interests.
    • Represent clients in court hearings, trials, and other legal proceedings, presenting arguments and evidence effectively.
    • Advocate for clients' interests during court proceedings, cross-examining witnesses, and presenting evidence to support their case.
    • Collaborate with other attorneys, paralegals, and legal professionals to ensure comprehensive and effective representation of clients.
    • Maintain accurate records and documentation related to client cases, including correspondence, court filings, and billing information.
    • Stay informed about changes in family law statutes, regulations, and legal precedents to provide up-to-date and accurate legal advice.
    • Uphold ethical standards and professional conduct in all interactions with clients, colleagues, and legal authorities.

    Qualifications:

    • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
    • Admission to the state bar and license to practice law in Texas
    • Proven experience practicing family law, with a strong understanding of relevant statutes, regulations, and case law.
    • Excellent analytical, research, and problem-solving skills.
    • Strong communication and negotiation abilities, both written and verbal.
    • Ability to empathize with clients and understand the emotional challenges associated with family law matters.
    • Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously.
    • Demonstrated commitment to professionalism, integrity, and ethical conduct.
    • Experience with alternative dispute resolution methods such as mediation and collaborative law is preferred.
    • Continuing legal education (CLE) in family law and related areas to stay current with legal developments and best practices.

    Job Type: Full-time

    Pay: $60,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
