Dean of Law manages administrative functions of the college of law. Develops college strategic initiatives and participates in university long-term planning and policy setting. Being a Dean of Law leads college in fundraising and cultivating relationships with donors. Provides senior level administrative leadership in areas of curriculum development, institutional assessment and improvement, human resource, faculty development and performance appraisals, budget and finance, and facilities planning and management. Additionally, Dean of Law requires a Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school. Typically reports to top management. The Dean of Law manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function. To be a Dean of Law typically requires 5+ years of managerial experience.     We're looking for a Trial Attorney ready to grow with our team.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Assist lead trial lawyers in managing a caseload from intake through litigation, trial, and settlement
    • Draft legal documents, conduct legal research, and prepare for court appearances, trials, and depositions
    • Work directly with clients to manage their expectations and deliver legal advice
    • Collaborate with our team to develop effective case strategies
    • Show initiative and work independently with an eye toward growth and future leadership opportunities
    • Manage team of legal assistants

    Qualifications:

    • J.D. from an accredited law school and licensed to practice in Oregon
    • Minimum 1-2 years of experience in a legal role; courtroom experience is strongly preferred
    • District Attorney experience is an asset
    • Demonstrated ability to work independently and a desire for career growth
    • Strategic minded with a history of creative thinking and problem solving
    • Evidence of discipline, such as mastery of a hobby, a sport, etc.
    • Turning exposure to hardship into insights about the human condition that are transferable to brutal cross-examination skills and strategic mindset
    • Management experience of any kind is valued
    • A history of hard work, particularly in manual labor, is a plus

    Compensation:

Your compensation is dependant on your experience and capacity to manage a team. Our compensation package includes a monthly salary plus bonuses based on profitability.
