Dean of Mathematics manages administrative functions of the college of mathematics. Develops college strategic initiatives and participates in university long-term planning and policy setting. Being a Dean of Mathematics leads college in fundraising and cultivating relationships with donors. Provides senior level administrative leadership in areas of curriculum development, institutional assessment and improvement, human resource, faculty development and performance appraisals, budget and finance, and facilities planning and management. Additionally, Dean of Mathematics requires an advanced degree. Typically reports to top management. The Dean of Mathematics manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function. To be a Dean of Mathematics typically requires 5+ years of managerial experience. PURPOSE: The Mechanical Maintenance Technician 4 operates and maintains the site-critical equipment.. RESPONSIBILITIES:
All duties from previous levels of both Mechanical and Electrical must be performed in addition to:
- Mentor less experienced technicians
- Serve as the ssistant lead technician with work load distribution and reporting
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Lifting and physical exertion required.
- Able to stand for long periods of time.
- Daily physical exertion of hands and fingers, reaching, climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching and or crawling.
- Able to walk or sit for a long periods of time.
- Must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 lbs.
- Specific vision abilities required to include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
Experience
- 8 years of experience in maintenance of facilities with thorough understanding of, electrical systems, controls, generator, and life safety systems required.
Education- High School Diploma or GED required OR Vocational or Associates Degree preferred
Abilities- Exposure to computer screens for an extended period of time.
- Sitting for extended periods of time.
- Reach by extending hands or arms in any direction.
- Have finger dexterity in order to manipulate objects with fingers rather than whole hands or arms, for example, using a keyboard.
- Listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences.
- Communicate information and ideas in speaking so others will understand.
- Read and understand information and ideas presented in writing.
- Apply general rules to specific problems to produce answers that make sense.
- Identify and understand the speech of another person.
