Dean of Mathematics jobs in Longview, TX
Dean of Mathematics manages administrative functions of the college of mathematics. Develops college strategic initiatives and participates in university long-term planning and policy setting. Being a Dean of Mathematics leads college in fundraising and cultivating relationships with donors. Provides senior level administrative leadership in areas of curriculum development, institutional assessment and improvement, human resource, faculty development and performance appraisals, budget and finance, and facilities planning and management. Additionally, Dean of Mathematics requires an advanced degree. Typically reports to top management. The Dean of Mathematics manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function. To be a Dean of Mathematics typically requires 5+ years of managerial experience. This is a contract role for a Mathematics Tutor. The Mathematics Tutor will be responsible for providing on-site tutoring services in the Tyler based office. The day-to-day tasks of the Mathematics Tutor include tutoring students in mathematics, conducting online ACT/SAT prep classes in person in the office and virtually, and effectively communicating complex mathematical concepts and test strategies to students.
- Strong Mathematics and Algebra skills
- Experience in tutoring and online tutoring
- Excellent communication skills
- Knowledge of standardized tests such as ACT/SAT
- Experience working with high school students
- Ability to implement the Capstone test prep curriculum in an engaging way
- Patience and adaptability in working with diverse learners
- Available on Saturdays and weeknights
Job Type: Contract
Pay: $35.00 - $50.00 per hour
Expected hours: 1 – 6 per week
Schedule:
- After school
- Evening shift
- Weekends as needed
