Dean of Mathematics manages administrative functions of the college of mathematics. Develops college strategic initiatives and participates in university long-term planning and policy setting. Being a Dean of Mathematics leads college in fundraising and cultivating relationships with donors. Provides senior level administrative leadership in areas of curriculum development, institutional assessment and improvement, human resource, faculty development and performance appraisals, budget and finance, and facilities planning and management. Additionally, Dean of Mathematics requires an advanced degree. Typically reports to top management. The Dean of Mathematics manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function. To be a Dean of Mathematics typically requires 5+ years of managerial experience.     Job Description
    Minnesota State College Southeast seeks a Mathematic Instructor for our Winona Campus who is dedicated to excellence in teaching desires to become part of a creative, vibrant, student-centered learning community. The successful candidate will demonstrate a commitment to interdisciplinary and cross-cultural perspectives. Faculty members at Minnesota State College Southeast are professionally active scholars who participate in departmental and campus-wide activities to enhance their disciplines, promote interdisciplinary discourse and collaboration, and advance the college mission. The college is committed to reflecting a diversity of perspectives and backgrounds among its administrators, faculty and staff. The instructor may earn unlimited status upon completion of six successful probationary semesters.

    Duties Include:
    • Participate in department and college curriculum development.
    • Deliver classroom, web-enhanced and/or online course instruction.
    • Conduct classroom research and other assessment/evaluation activities.
    • Mentor and advise students.
    • Participate in committee assignments and college-wide initiatives.
    • Participate in department accreditation and review.
    • Engage in scholarly and other professional development activities.


    Required Qualifications
    Master’s degree with a major in mathematics or a Master’s degree with a minimum of 18 graduate semester credits (27 graduate quarter credits) in mathematics
