Dean of Mathematics manages administrative functions of the college of mathematics. Develops college strategic initiatives and participates in university long-term planning and policy setting. Being a Dean of Mathematics leads college in fundraising and cultivating relationships with donors. Provides senior level administrative leadership in areas of curriculum development, institutional assessment and improvement, human resource, faculty development and performance appraisals, budget and finance, and facilities planning and management. Additionally, Dean of Mathematics requires an advanced degree. Typically reports to top management. The Dean of Mathematics manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function. To be a Dean of Mathematics typically requires 5+ years of managerial experience. The Dean of Operations will supervise milieu staff and the Milieu Coordinator. The Bay Cove Dean of Operations will be an integral member of the Bay Cove Academy School Leadership team that works collaboratively together. This group of team leaders are responsible for professional development, curriculum oversight, policy implementation, technology advancement, promoting inclusivity and diversity to implement best practices and apply research to lead the school.
