Methodist University seeks an Assistant/Associate Dean for Research and Scholarship for its new School of Medicine that has been established in partnership with Cape Fear Valley Health in Fayetteville, NC. The School of Medicine is an applicant program with the LCME. Reporting directly to the Dean, the Assistant/Associate Dean for Research and Scholarship will serve as trusted partner and will oversee the leadership, development, supervision, and assessment of research and scholarship at the School of Medicine through planning, directing, and the implementation of programs, policies, and procedures for research and scholarship impacting students, faculty and staff. This individual will work collaboratively with the Senior Associate Deans for Academic Affairs, Student Experience and Finance and Administration ensuring that the mission and vision of the School of Medicine are realized. This individual will require the ability to work as a team leader, team member, and team player and possess superior communication skills and emotional intelligence. The ideal candidate will have a terminal degree in a health professions field with a strong record of research achievement, including extramural funding, that qualifies them for appointment as Associate Professor or above. The candidate will have a record of successful leadership in research with demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within and across institutions. Preferred experience with building new programs, research in community health/social determinants of health, working with graduate medical education, and undergraduate/graduate student teaching.
