Dean of Medicine jobs in Springfield, OH
Dean of Medicine manages administrative functions of the college of medical. Develops college strategic initiatives and participates in university long-term planning and policy setting. Being a Dean of Medicine leads college in fundraising and cultivating relationships with donors. Provides senior level administrative leadership in areas of curriculum development, institutional assessment and improvement, human resource, faculty development and performance appraisals, budget and finance, and facilities planning and management. Additionally, Dean of Medicine requires an advanced degree. Typically reports to top management. The Dean of Medicine manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function. To be a Dean of Medicine typically requires 5+ years of managerial experience. Qualifications:
- Administrative License or Degree in Athletic Administration is preferred.
- Head coaching experience at the varsity level preferred.
- Must be able to work evenings and weekends.
- Current application, license and transcripts on file in the board office.
- Ability to work with staff, students and parents in a positive manner.
- Ability to take guidance and direction from Principal and Superintendent.
- Participates as an active member of the management team.
- Upholds board policies and follows administrative guidelines/procedures.
- Promotes a professional image of the school district.
- Has comprehensive knowledge of interscholastic athletic program regulations.
- Effective organizational, planning and project management skills.
- Encourages program innovations and pursues funding opportunities.
- Prepares grant/foundation applications.
- Implements funded proposals and complies with reporting requirements.
- BCI and FBI background checks will be required of approved candidate.
