Dean of Nursing jobs in Abilene, TX
Dean of Nursing manages administrative functions of the college of nursing. Develops college strategic initiatives and participates in university long-term planning and policy setting. Being a Dean of Nursing leads college in fundraising and cultivating relationships with donors. Provides senior level administrative leadership in areas of curriculum development, institutional assessment and improvement, human resource, faculty development and performance appraisals, budget and finance, and facilities planning and management. Additionally, Dean of Nursing requires an advanced degree. Typically reports to top management. Requires certification as a registered nurse. The Dean of Nursing manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function. To be a Dean of Nursing typically requires 5+ years of managerial experience. As our ADON, you would be one of the primary managers over the nursing department. Your responsibilities would be as follows:
- Preforming daily nursing audits to ensure compliance
- Providing education and training to the nursing staff
- Making daily rounds throughout the building to ensure compliance in infection control
- Overseeing the nursing schedule and working the floor as needed
- Taking an on call rotation with the other nurse management
- Providing resources and support to the employees in the nursing department
- Maintaining regular attendance and have the flexibility to meet the needs of the nursing department.
We are offering a $5000 Sign On Bonus for this position.
To be considered for this position, you would need to have a current LVN or RN license. Long term care experience is desired, but not required.
