Dean of Pharmacy manages administrative functions of the college of pharmacy. Develops college strategic initiatives and participates in university long-term planning and policy setting. Being a Dean of Pharmacy leads college in fundraising and cultivating relationships with donors. Provides senior level administrative leadership in areas of curriculum development, institutional assessment and improvement, human resource, faculty development and performance appraisals, budget and finance, and facilities planning and management. Responsible for assisting to complete all aspects of medication processing under the direct supervision of the Pharmacist and in accordance with SOPs, and regulatory compliance.
Enter medication orders into patient profiles
Assist with use of automated dispensing machines
Resolve billing errors
May complete annual inventories as scheduled
Order and check in OTC stock
Check controlled inventory and assist or complete controlled report as requested
Assist with management of inventory levels, stock medication and chemicals, return excess stock to inventory and manage expired medication or chemical product
Assist in the acquisition and maintenance of appropriate inventories of pharmaceuticals and other supplies
Prepare and package pharmaceuticals per prescriber order in accordance with regulation and licensing standards
Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor to assist with preparation and delivery of patient medications
May prepare and deliver investigational drugs per research protocols
Maintain a clean workspace, conduct scheduled and routine cleanings including clean room facilities as assigned and detailed in SOPs
Respond to telephone inquiries.
Complete refrigerator temperatures and clean refrigerator
Complete special projects as assigned by supervisor
Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor to assist with preparation and delivery of patient medications
Process, prepare, compound, package and label sterile and non-sterile pharmaceuticals
Prepare sterile products, and injections
Perform calculations for the preparation of medication and pharmaceutical products
Assist in the training and orientation of pharmacy staff
Respond to telephone inquiries, referring them to appropriate professional staff where needed
Deliver superior customer service including notifications, and follow up with auto calls, un-enroll auto service where requested
Engage customers, call Prescriber when faxes fail, second attempt calls, call to opt in to automated services, and follow up with prescription being ready
Act as customer service representative and liaison to physicians, clinics and hospitals and Stonegate Pharmacy
Complete third party payer reimbursement and related forms
Ensure proper bulk compound preparations in accordance with monthly usage
Ensure chemical purchases are maximized in accordance with third party reimbursements
Resolve billing errors
Follow up with challenging tickets which may include payment and other problem cases including refill requests remaining greater than 48hours
Perform pharmacy computer system operations, including order entry, billing, crediting and updating
May maintain liaison with nurses, physicians and other health care professionals regarding medication problems for individual patients
Perform Company business in accordance with all regulations, Company policy and procedures
Demonstrate high ethical and professional standards at all times

Pharmacy Technician Certification
High School diploma or equivalent
