PHARMACY TECHNICIAN JOB SUMMARY: Under the supervision of a pharmacist, fills physicians orders, assists with monitoring drug therapy, stocking and dispensing of pharmaceuticals, and assists the pharmacist in the monitoring of the inventory of narcotic and controlled substances.

PHARMACY TECHNICIAN ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

ASSISTS THE PHARMACISTS IN THE OPERATIONS OF PROVIDING PHARMACEUTICAL SERVICES

• Audit records to meet regulations and maintain compliance.
• Maintain 340B compliance by following program specific policy and procedures.
• Support pharmaceutical services by assembling, stocking, and distributing medications.
• Greet, communicate, and treat clients in professional, honest, fair, and respectful manner at all times.
• Maintain records by recording and filing prescriptions and orders of physicians.
• Sort, stock, and label medication and monitoring inventory.
• Respond to requests of patients and healthcare providers, answering their questions, and referring various inquiries to the pharmacist.
• Comply with rules, regulations, policies, and procedures to maintain a clean and safe pharmacy by sterilizing equipment and surfaces.
• Process prescriptions electronically and ensuring all information is accurate and complete.
• Record, calculate, and issue charges.
• Ensure inventory is adequately stocked with supplies necessary for efficient operation.

OTHER SIGNIFICANT RESPONIBILITIES:

• Maintain confidentiality on a daily basis.
• Work well with other employees.
• Perform other functions and tasks as assigned.

Education:

• High school or equivalent (Required)

Experience:

• Pharmacy Technician Experience: 1 year (Preferred)

License/Certification:

• Pharmacy Technician Certification (Required)
