Ensures the delivery of effective and quality service to students in the following areas: student housing, counseling, student conduct, and orientation. Being a Dean of Students counsels the top management regarding overall student morale and services. Typically requires an advanced degree. Additionally, Dean of Students typically reports to top management. The Dean of Students manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function. To be a Dean of Students typically requires 5+ years of managerial experience.     Summary of Job Duties:Function as a liaison between the dean and departments to assess needs; enhance academic standards, and Improve the quality of program services to students (undergraduates and graduates); provide direction and guidance to support STEM initiatives; monitor and implement a comprehensive assessment program within the school; assist with departmental programs' external reviews and accreditations, viability reports, assessment and other data/reports; assist with enrollment management and retention of students; and perform various tasks as deemed necessary for the school's overall success.Qualifications:

    Earned doctorate in one of the program areas within the School of Arts and Sciences; a minimum of three years of teaching experience; previous experience supervising faculty and staff; evidence of significant scholarly work, research, and service; and demonstrate excellence in oral and written communication, and interpersonal skills.
