    Pepper Dairy and Heifer Farm - Dublin, TX

    Coldwater Dairy Farm - Stratford, TX


    Purpose:

    The Farm Support Technician will be primarily responsible for the day-to-day company IT needs with primary focus at the assigned farm location. The Support Technician's role is to provide a single point of contact for end users to receive support and maintenance within AOD’s desktop computing and multi-site environments.


    Essential Responsibilities:

    • Install, diagnose, repair, and upgrade PC hardware and software for optimal performance.
    • Troubleshoot issues in person, by phone, or email; collaborate with third-party vendors.
    • Record service desk inquiries in the ticketing system.
    • Install and configure IT software and equipment, including desktop PCs, laptops, cell phones, and VOIP systems.
    • Recommend proactive solutions for upcoming IT needs.
    • Collaborate with farm staff for routine maintenance scheduling.
    • Maintain computer inventory and control IT assets.
    • Conduct new hire office setup and provide hardware and software training.
    • Work with third-party IT vendors to resolve network and VOIP issues.
    • Support testing and deployment of new applications and systems.
    • Use power tools for Ethernet cable installation and testing.
    • Collaborate with the IT team for network reliability, security, and performance.
    • Maintain and upgrade server rooms and network cabinets.
    • Document network configurations and changes.
    • Execute special projects as requested by IT management.
    • Populate and update the AOD IT Knowledgebase.
    • Maintain effective verbal communication skills.
    • Interact with vendor support to resolve technical issues.
    • Attend internal training and meetings to stay updated on technology.
    • Provide back-up support to other IT members.
    • Participate in on call rotation, including weekend coverage.
    • Travel to remote locations


    Knowledge & Experience:


    • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
    • 2 years’ experience with Office365
    • 2 years’ experience with Microsoft Windows Operating Systems.
    • 2 years’ experience with Microsoft Server Operating Systems.
    • Knowledge of basic WAN/LAN troubleshooting
    • Technical aptitude for problem solving both software and hardware issues.
    • Experience resolving Windows-based software and hardware issues, including basic PC and printer troubleshooting.
    • Knowledge of basic troubleshooting.
    • Experience providing excellent customer service.
    • Demonstrate positive, collaborate and professional communications.
    • Must possess a reliable mode of transportation.

    Physical Requirements:

    • Must be able to follow safety protocols in an industrial and farm environment. Must be able to lift 50 pounds
