    COMMUNITY
    The makeup of our community determines a large part of what it is like to live and work here. We have approximately 120 people who live on-site year-round, consisting of full-time staff, staff families, and seasonal staff. Glorieta is a beautiful place with many natural resources but calls for somewhat remote living.

    Title: Recruiting and Hiring Manager
    Department: Guest Relationships

    Job Purpose: This is a full-time position with the responsibility to, recruit, interview, and hire our 250 Summer Staff, Adult Volunteers and Service Team. Summer Staff is composed of college-age students who work for 6-11 weeks from May-August to serve in a variety of different roles to help serve and lead thousands of campers. Volunteers are adults who serve for 2 weeks at a time in a myriad of programs. Service Team is made up of high school students ages 15-18 who serve in the dishroom and are discipled by summer staff.

    Overall Responsibility
    • Recruiting, interviewing, hiring, and assisting in the retention of Summer Staff in a God-glorifying way (including pre and post-summer communications/follow-up).
    • Handling and organizing all necessary hiring paperwork for every Summer Staff and Volunteer
    • Develop a recruiting strategy (attracting, developing, and retaining quality staff)
    • Assist with coordinating housing, arrival details, and communications with Summer Staff pre-summer
    • Planning and coordinating recruitment trips and events.
    • Frequent travel to college campuses, college ministries, and other points of interest to create relationships for the purpose of recruiting
    • Build and maintain relationships with college students, ministries, organizations, and pastors
    • Constantly learning and researching new methods and staying relevant in strategies
    • Maintaining knowledge of all Summer Staff positions and all programs
    • Communicating constantly with Program Managers to ensure efficient hiring processes and that no applicant is lost in the process
    • Screen all applicants according to our Child Protection Policy
    • Collaborate with other team members to find new ideas for reaching college students
    • Research and order recruiting swag, print material, and returner gifts
    • Maintain and oversee recruiting budget for all Summer Staff
    • Update applications and website annually or as needed
    Other Duties of ALL Glorieta Staff: We operate year-round. We have guests on the premises almost every day of the year. Serving guests is our number one priority, and therefore ALL staff must participate in guest service in some capacity. Tasks may include cooking, cleaning, facilitating group activities, running retail locations, general maintenance of camp property, recruiting trips, sales trips, and work projects as needed. There are often groups here on weekends, and all staff members will be required to work certain weekends as needed.

    • Be organized and detail-minded

    • Have the ability to comfortably and charismatically talk with strangers
    • Have the ability to take direction and be creative with tasks
    • A College degree is preferred
    Work Context: This job will be performed primarily on location in Glorieta, New Mexico

    Travel: Occasional travel to help with recruiting, marketing, or training.

    Physical Demands: Ability to lift 60 lbs, sit in the office, hike, stand all day, and be willing to get your hands dirty.

    Work Environment: Most on-site work will be done in Glorieta, NM, but you should expect to travel frequently and on occasion with short notice as events and opportunities arise.
    Training: Employees will be given opportunities for improvement through appropriate training.

    Compensation: $14.55/hour with additional overtime pay, on-site housing including utilities, $0 deductable/premiuim medical insurance, 401(k) retirement package after one year, and paid vacation time. See HR and/or potential supervisor for details.
