Decision Support Project Specialist provides technical guidance and solutions to user groups working with decision support software and data tools. Analyzes user requirements and evaluates functionality and configuration options available for existing and new software. Being a Decision Support Project Specialist delivers user training and coaching to facilitate problem solving and decision making using hardware, software, datamarts, and data warehouses. Plans, coordinates and monitors projects to prepare, test, and deploy decision support tools, reports, dashboards and models to users. Additionally, Decision Support Project Specialist troubleshoots and resolves problems. May have specialized knowledge of a particular software product tool or module that is utilized. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. Decision Support Project Specialist is a specialist on complex technical and business matters. Position Summary
Reporting to the Senior Director of Financial Operations, the Decision Support Analyst position develops and interprets complex financial analysis and reports used by management in decision-making. The position is responsible for preparing analysis for the support of budgeting/ long range planning, business plan development (proforma, retrospective analysis), service line reporting, revenue, and reimbursement analysis, as well as the ad hoc reporting needs of management. The role requires performing extensive data mining and abstracting of financial and clinical information from various sources to analyze and interpret data to support organizational decision-making and strategic planning.
The Decision Support Analyst will serve as a liaison to operationally support and link areas such as Finance, Administration and Operations. This role serves as an expert in Decision Support and Cost Accounting, understanding the flow of data from financial systems and patient encounter records and the interrelationship of data from these different systems.
