Summary:
Yorktown systems Group is seeking a highly qualified Project Management Support Specialist to provide professional services to the Operational Environment Center (OEC) and support to the TRADOC G-2. The TRADOC G-2 facilitates and acts as the principal enabler for continuous learning across all TRADOC lines of effort through acquiring, analyzing, creating, organizing, applying and transferring data, information, and knowledge in the context of current and future operations. The G-2 is responsible for delivering the Operating Environment to facilitate the training of deploying units on joint, national and interagency information, emerging asymmetric capabilities gleaned from world-wide operations; integrating processes, practices, concepts and materiel capabilities into Joint and Service DOTMLPF solutions; and coordinating with the training centers to provide realistic enemy and environmental signatures into models and simulations in support of realistic training.
To enable OEC's far-reaching capabilities, Data Science, Modeling, and Simulations (DSMS) Directorate partners with the Services, government, industry, academia, and coalition partners to collaborate on innovative training and education solutions inserting technology into soldiers' hands where it makes sense. DSMS acquires and hosts data to transform raw data to content for Training Support Packages or event data sets for Live, Virtual, Constructive and Gaming training to enable the Army Learning and Training Concepts. DSMS develops, delivers and sustains tools and capabilities for users in the field to grow the capacity to apply re-rendered data elements against training objectives at any level in the Army Integrated or Synthetic Training Environments.
In this Technical Project Manager/Support function, an ideal candidate will be able to communicate clearly with technical teams, develop roadmaps for project implementations, assist with overcoming roadblocks and keep all stakeholders advised of project status. They will also be able to support various efforts related to operational improvements of the toolset/applications and utilities they are tasked with managing the implementation of. This technical PM may serve as a liaison between the Application teams, infrastructure teams and other groups. They will provide support, coordination and planning activities to project manager. Supporting applications may include answering technical questions, troubleshooting problems, and guiding users. This person will fully coordinate project planning of initiatives, extract data, format and run reports, or perform specific analytical functions.
Specific duties may include, but are not limited to:
- Project management and coordination across multiple production support portfolios to include significant initiatives and project activities
- Develop a detailed project plan to monitor and track progress of short-term and long-term goals
- Assist in the definition of project scope and objectives, involving all relevant stakeholders and ensuring technical feasibility
- Manage the relationship with the client and all stakeholders
- Ensure that all projects are delivered on-time, within scope and within budget.
- Measure project performance using appropriate tools and techniques
- Develop comprehensive project plans
- Create and Maintain comprehensive project documentation
- Perform other related duties as assigned
- Provide guidance or technical input to participants dealing with project issues
- Provide technical guidance and coaching through participation in project intake, evaluation and planning
Required Qualifications:
- 8-10 years of related experience
- 4-6 years of project management or related experience required
- Ability to analyze different components of the data model, data migration, infrastructure and application environments
- Experience with influencing other technical teams
- Proven working experience in project management
- Experience working with cloud infrastructure environments.
- Able to quickly and concisely communicate (verbal and written) with senior management and other stakeholders on technical issues in non-technical terms.
- Experience and confidence working with all levels of management.
- Strong relationship management skills and aptitude to multi-task and work well in a high stress environment, both within teams and independently.
- Proficiency with MS Project, Word, Excel and PowerPoint and presenting to senior management using data and information from these tools
- Must possess a valid US passport.
Clearance: Must possess a SECRET security clearance, with the eligibility to earn a Top Secret / SCI.
Location: FT Eustis, VA
Travel: Some travel will be required, up to 20% of the time.
