Being a Deli Counter Manager monitors quality of goods and service. Responsible for department staff training, assignments, and scheduling. Additionally, Deli Counter Manager requires a high school diploma or equivalent. Typically reports to a head of a unit/department. What You’ll Do:
Provide friendly and attentive customer service as you help oversee the day to day operations of the department and supervise the department team to achieve sales, gross profit and shrink goals. You’ll help handle production of deli/prepared foods items (i.e. ready-made meals, packaged salads, pizzas, subs, etc.) and fulfilling customer requests, as well as ordering, receiving, storage, rotation, and merchandising/display of product; ensuring proper shelf and sales floor conditions and stock levels; and selection, training, development, and scheduling of prepared foods associates.

Skills/Experience Needed:
Ideally, you’ll have previous related retail or food preparation experience. You’ll need to be friendly and courteous in order to provide excellent customer service, as well as the ability to read, write, and perform basic math functions. Excellent communication skills, basic computer skills and the ability to operate the slicer, wrapping machine, cheese cutter, ovens/stove, fryer pizza dough press , and computerized scales is also important. Assistant Department Managers will need to be available nights, weekends, and holidays, and prepared foods associates must be at least 18 years of age.
