Then La Montañita Food Cooperative wants you as it's next Deli Counter Clerk!! We are seeking an individual that can work with minimal supervision yet can be counted on as a solid team player in preparing deli products for customers. The deli department is a fast paced and ever changing environment that requires flexibility and a close attention to detail. Our Deli Counter Clerks help meet the needs of customers by providing prompt, knowledgeable, courteous service. The Deli Counter Clerks are responsible for maintaining a clean and attractive deli case display ensure the the presentation of products are fresh and meet the standards of La Montañita Food Cooperative guidelines.

While working in a fast pace and ever changing environment, the Deli Counter Clerks will assist the Deli Cooks in rotating stock and are expected to learn the basics of food preparation and sanitation.

Some general duties and attributes also include (not limited to):

• Assist in stocking and maintaining products on Deli shelves.
• Perform job in accordance to policies, regulations & safety procedures, and Health Department regulations.
• Stay informed of membership issues and promote membership whenever possible.
• Participate in inventories and attend staff meetings as required.
• Ability to self-motivate, problem-solve and work with minimal supervision.
• Ability to stand for long periods of time.
• Be able to perform all other physical aspects of the position including but not limited to bending, squatting, standing, lifting, climbing, pushing, pulling, and walking.
• Must possess technical skills to perform basic math and computer tasks (Word, Excel, and Email).
• Must maintain Food Safety Certification.
• Ability to accept supervisory coaching related to performance, work habits and attitude.
• Ability to adhere to required safety and wellness guidelines.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $17.59 per hour
