Dentist examines and treats diseases and injuries of teeth and gums. Performs preventative and maintenance dentistry and educates the patient in proper tooth and gum care. Being a Dentist recommends braces or surgery to correct any malformations. Requires a doctorate degree in dentistry, either a Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) or Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) degree from an accredited school. Additionally, Dentist requires a state licensed to practice. Typically reports to a top management. Dentist's years of experience requirement may be unspecified. Position Description: Provide incarcerated individuals with dental screening/treatment; diagnose and treat diseases, injuries and malformations of teeth gums and related oral structures; perform exams, utilize diagnostic procedures and instruments; clean, fill, extract and replace teeth, design and build crowns, bridges and other oral structures; prescribe medications; plan programs of exams and treatments; provide clinical supervision of dental assistant and other staff assigned to the clinic, document services provided.
Experience Required: 3 - 5 years
Education Required: DDS or DMD
Additional Information: Must have a current/valid Iowa Dental License
Shift: 1st- Shift Start/End Time: 7:00am-3:00pm, 7:00am-4:00pm, or 7:00am-5:00pm
