Dentist examines and treats diseases and injuries of teeth and gums. Performs preventative and maintenance dentistry and educates the patient in proper tooth and gum care. Being a Dentist recommends braces or surgery to correct any malformations. Requires a doctorate degree in dentistry, either a Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) or Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) degree from an accredited school. Additionally, Dentist requires a state licensed to practice. Typically reports to a top management. Dentist's years of experience requirement may be unspecified. REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS:The Dentist reports to, is supervised by, and evaluated by the Dental Director.EVALUATION:The evaluation of work performance will be on-going, and will be carried out by the supervisor, and will include the specific duties and responsibilities of this position description plus employee attitudes and general working behavior. Formal evaluation will normally be performed annually, but may be initiated at other times by the employee or supervisor.SALARY:The salaries for all positions are defined by established base rate plus years of service, experience and possible additional duty assignments. The Dentist position is a salaried position.
