Dentist examines and treats diseases and injuries of teeth and gums. Performs preventative and maintenance dentistry and educates the patient in proper tooth and gum care. Being a Dentist recommends braces or surgery to correct any malformations. Requires a doctorate degree in dentistry, either a Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) or Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) degree from an accredited school. Additionally, Dentist requires a state licensed to practice. Typically reports to a top management. Dentist's years of experience requirement may be unspecified. Qualifications and Responsibilities:
The Dentist is responsible for professional dental care for inmates.Performs routine dental treatment including examining teeth and gums for cavities, infections and diseases; takes necessary x-rays; performs fillings and extractions as warranted.
Diagnoses and develops treatment plans for inmates.Develops, coordinates and supervises the facility dental program to include advising and instructing inmates in the cause and prevention of dental disease.
Must have an active Colorado license with DEA and BLS About the Facility:
Crowley County Correctional Facility is located in Olney Springs, CO, approximately 40 miles East of Pueblo, CO. It is a small town where hospitality is not just a saying but a way of life. Crowley County Correctional Facility houses Colorado Department of Corrections male inmates. It has a full clinic with a 24-hour medical department, dental office and mental health office.
