Design Director directs and oversees CAE technical and team capability to support product, component, or structure design. Provides expertise and technical leadershipfor benchmarking, concept design, prototype development, simulation, testing protocols, and optimization utilizing CAE design and analysis techniques and tools. Being a Design Director develops and optimizes CAE methodology, including guidelines and standards, to increase design process efficiency. Requires a bachelor's degree in engineering. Additionally, Design Director typically reports to senior management. The Design Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. To be a Design Director typically requires 5+ years of managerial experience. Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function. (a) Capable of documenting Facility layouts, and factory automation using AutoCad.
(b) Must be a self starter. Familiar with various measurement methods.
(c) Candidate needs to work well with others as a team member.
(d) Some travel required.
Qualifications: Associates degree in the mechanical engineering field minimum. Candidate must have a working knowledge of AutoCad.
