Design Director directs and oversees CAE technical and team capability to support product, component, or structure design. Provides expertise and technical leadershipfor benchmarking, concept design, prototype development, simulation, testing protocols, and optimization utilizing CAE design and analysis techniques and tools. Being a Design Director develops and optimizes CAE methodology, including guidelines and standards, to increase design process efficiency. Requires a bachelor's degree in engineering. Additionally, Design Director typically reports to senior management. The Design Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. Bergmann, an affiliate of Colliers Engineering & Design, is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join the Buildings MEP group.
The ideal candidate will have 3-10 years of experience in Mechanical Design for Buildings.
The Mechanical Engineer will work alongside engineers and architects as part of a design team applying mechanical engineering principles towards the successful design of low to mid-rise new construction projects, as well as evaluating existing buildings for renovations or reuse.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Architectural Engineering with Mechanical Emphasis from an ABET accredited University and 3-10 years' experience. Engineering in Training (EIT) certification required, but a Professional Engineer (PE) license is desirable.
