Design Director directs and oversees CAE technical and team capability to support product, component, or structure design. Provides expertise and technical leadershipfor benchmarking, concept design, prototype development, simulation, testing protocols, and optimization utilizing CAE design and analysis techniques and tools. Being a Design Director develops and optimizes CAE methodology, including guidelines and standards, to increase design process efficiency. Requires a bachelor's degree in engineering. Additionally, Design Director typically reports to senior management. The Design Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. To be a Design Director typically requires 5+ years of managerial experience. Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function. Requirements Applicants should be majoring in specific field related to graphic design, web design or motion graphics with strong knowledge of the Adobe CC suite and be able to work in a Mac OS atmosphere. 3D software experience is preferred. Desired candidate should possess a strong knowledge of current design trends and have an eye for attention to detail. Ideal candidates must also have the ability to take written ideas from a concept phase to a finished art piece while working within given deadlines.
