Architectural Design engineer

Blair Image Elements, a leader in corporate branding construction with national and international clients, is currently seeking an architectural design engineer to join our growing team.  We have doubled our sales in the last year and are looking for someone to help us sustain and continue this exciting growth trend.  As part of this team, you will be responsible for the architectural design of various projects that Blair has been awarded by General Contractors or associated architects/owners.

What you will be doing:

• Understand the scope of work, estimates & quotes for each project from documents available
• Be able to integrate Adobe pdf or AutoCAD drawings into actual design drawings
• Having the ability to translate the scope of work once contracted from the estimates/quotes into design drawings for both internal/customer approval
• Generating full architectural drawings within Blair design parameters
• Independently complete a job from start to finish with internal guidance as required once properly trained
• Ensure processes and procedures are followed to achieve optimum designs and efficient performance
• Maintain daily communication with active design jobs with internal group
• Having the ability to communicate with internal Project Managers, but also with installation teams, General contractors, and architects as required in a professional manner
• Assume responsibility and ownership of each direct design project to ensure all components from design to manufacturing to install allow for a smooth project with minimal interruption
• Once architectural drawings are complete, developing accurate flat patterns and detailed design components to allow for proper manufacturing are essential
• Daily and timely communication is essential to having success in this role

What we are looking for:

• Associates degree or multiple years’ experience using AutoCAD with the ability to perform at a high level and the ability to learn the processes and Blair’s design intent after internal training
• Meticulous and precise in approach; quality-conscious and thorough

• Ability to communicate thought processes & receive feedback on architectural designs
• Excellent customer-oriented design and communication skills
• Willing and able to take control of challenging projects

• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
• Proficient with AutoCAD, Microsoft Office, including MS Excel and Adobe
• Flexible and adaptable; ability to work in a team environment and initiative to work alone
