Design Engineer designs, develops, and enhances new and existing products/product lines. Evaluates and recommends specifications and ensures products meet the technical and functional requirements. Being a Design Engineer recommends and follows reliable, efficient, and cost-effective procedures. Performs feasibility, functional, and quality testing of designs. Additionally, Design Engineer works with other members of the engineering staff to ensure project milestones are met and that projects are completed according to established timelines. Requires a bachelor's degree or equivalent. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Design Engineer work is closely managed. The Structural Engineer will play a pivotal role in shaping and executing the design of structures across a broad spectrum of projects, with a particular emphasis on apartment buildings and multi-level structures. This is a hands-on position focused on engineering design and calculations, contributing to and managing projects through all phases.

Requirements:Responsibilities:- Degree in civil/structural engineering or architectural engineering.
- Master’s Degree in Structural Engineering strongly preferred
- Must be Licensed Professional Engineer ( P.E. ) OR E.I.T. in process of licensure.
- 3-15 years of experience with commercial building structures.
- Structural Steel, elevated concrete and post-tensioned concrete, and Wood-framed structural experience required.
- Experience in high seismic and wind regions.
- Experience with expansive soils.
- Familiar with all applicable design codes and technical software
- Experience with finite element modeling.
- Design structures for commercial and multifamily residential buildings.
- Develop and coordinate construction documents.
- Visit construction sites on their own projects.
- Use state-of-the-art software for analysis, design, and drawing.
- Work in a supportive team environment aided by structural engineers with decades of experience, as well as other recent graduates.
- Mentor more junior level staff.
- Manage and contribute to projects through all phases.
- Answer RFI's.
