Design Engineer designs, develops, and enhances new and existing products/product lines. Evaluates and recommends specifications and ensures products meet the technical and functional requirements. Being a Design Engineer recommends and follows reliable, efficient, and cost-effective procedures. Performs feasibility, functional, and quality testing of designs. Additionally, Design Engineer works with other members of the engineering staff to ensure project milestones are met and that projects are completed according to established timelines. Requires a bachelor's degree or equivalent. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Design Engineer work is closely managed. The CAD Technician adds value to the organization in several ways: 1) working with the Engineers to develop 3D models, 2) preparing models for hand-off to machinists for milling and turning operations, 3) generating drawings for use in purchasing, manufacturing, and inspection, 4), supporting manufacturing Engineers with floor layouts and process flows.
