Design Manager manages a team of CAE specialists that support the design engineering and development of products, components, or structures. Collaborates with engineering teams to provide CAE design, analysis, and modeling support. Being a Design Manager utilizes CAE tools to facilitate benchmarking, concept design, prototype development, simulation, and testing protocols. Evaluates project results to design, develop, and implement guidelines and procedures to achieve engineering efficiencies. Additionally, Design Manager requires a bachelor's degree in engineering. Typically reports to a director. The Design Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Design Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required. Job Requirements:
Proficiency in Creo; familiarity with Powermill, Powershape, Solidworks, or Catia is advantageous
Strong background in designing lift devices including understanding of constraints and safety factors
Experience with fixtures, tooling, weldments, or similar engineering projects
Preferred Skills:
Ability to work on multiple software platforms
Versatility in working with early career to senior level projects
Adaptability to a fast-paced work environment involving clients such as John Deere and Caterpillar
Job Responsibilities:
Engage in design engineering tasks using Creo and other relevant CAD software
Develop detailed designs for lift devices considering all necessary constraints and safety requirements
Create engineering solutions for fixtures, tooling, and weldments according to project needs
Collaborate closely with sister companies for potential dual-company employment opportunities
Pay Details: $35.00 to $40.00 per hour
