Design Manager manages a team of CAE specialists that support the design engineering and development of products, components, or structures. Collaborates with engineering teams to provide CAE design, analysis, and modeling support. Being a Design Manager utilizes CAE tools to facilitate benchmarking, concept design, prototype development, simulation, and testing protocols. Evaluates project results to design, develop, and implement guidelines and procedures to achieve engineering efficiencies. Additionally, Design Manager requires a bachelor's degree in engineering. Typically reports to a director. The Design Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Design Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required. - Provide technical expertise and guidance to team members as needed
- Stay updated on industry trends, advancements, and best practices in engineeringExperience:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field; Master's degree preferred
- Proven experience as an Engineering Manager or similar role
- Strong background in systems engineering and mechanical engineering
- Proficiency in project management methodologies and tools
- Excellent data analysis skills with the ability to interpret complex data sets
- Solid understanding of mathematical concepts and principles
- Experience working with AutoCAD or similar software for design purposes- Solidworks experience required
