Job Description

Prepare and manipulate customer supplied electronic files to be print ready using Adobe Creative Cloud software. Handle questions and problems impacting desktop or related processes. Act as liaison between customers and sales/sales support staff to determine customers’ expectations and satisfy customers’ needs. Acquire, and maintain current and emerging technical aspects affecting the desktop function.

• Examine job ticket information thoroughly to determine and understand all requirements of the job.
• Inspect customer supplied electronic files for accuracy, comparing them to the written job specifications.
• Determine cause of corrupt files or elements, troubleshooting as needed. Inform Sales, Account Managers and Prepress Manager as necessary of any problems with art files.
• Perform changes to files as necessary including sizing adjustments, color correction, bleed creation, image manipulation, copy changes, or other areas according to customer specifications.
• Coordinate with Preflight Operators and Prepress Manager to determine job priority and workflow. Follow and train others to use Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s).
• Maintain accurate organization of electronic files when preparing job for proofing and final print output.
• Perform multiple Desktop functions simultaneously. Requires ability to comprehend and follow multiple sources of job information, equipment operations and schedules.
• Perform routine upgrades or repairs on software, evaluate and make recommendations regarding hardware and software implementation to maximize productivity and reduce non-chargeable time.

Job Requirements

• Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud programs and their various applications.
• Working knowledge of other Industry related software.
• Understanding of all phases of print production operations and their requirements
• Use arithmetic to perform desktop, maintenance and material supply operations.
• Identify and avoid errors in work
• Solve problems using facts, problem-solving tools and personal judgment.
