Responsibilities:
Identifies, cultivates, solicits, and stewards major donors and prospects including individuals, corporations, and foundations, through direct personal contact in accordance with performance targets defined by the Vice President for University Advancement in coordination with Athletic Director and Coaches. Works collaboratively with AD, coaches, and DSU Foundation staff to cultivate and solicit prospects and donors. Works to understand the priorities of the University and athletics department. Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Bachelors degree required; masters degree preferred. Exceptional interpersonal skills and the ability to interact effectively with academic leadership, faculty, prospects, donors, and volunteers in a wide range of roles. Skills in budget preparation and fiscal management. Community relations skills and the ability to communicate and work effectively within a diverse community. Highly developed verbal and written communication skills and the ability to present effectively to small and large groups.1-3 years of fund raising or community development experience.Five years of fund raising experience and examples of large gift acquisitions.
