Events Supervisor - Museum

  • The Mashantucket Pequot Museum and Research Center is an exhibit and event space intended to attract a variety of public and private audiences.  Customer service and satisfaction is our highest priority. 

    Under the supervision of the Sales & Events Manager, the incumbent is responsible for the management of Beverage Inventory (including alcohol).  This includes, but is not limited to reporting inventory, coordinating with others to ensure that inventory is at appropriate levels (which may include overseeing returns and exchanges) and preparing monthly loss and damage and cost of goods sold (COGS) reports.  Assists with Museum mail distribution and deliveries to the Museum.
    Coordinates with Foxwoods Resort Sales Team all Bar/Beverage needs for events including event bar and MICROS stations setup, developing, maintaining, and coordinating a casual list of bartenders, alcohol orders, inventory control, creating purchase requisitions, etc.  Supervises beverage staff during events.  Assists with event bookings and related logistics.  Manages and oversees Housemen and Kitchen Utility staff to ensure event setups are completed timely in advance of events and kitchen is clean & orderly and equipment is kept in excellent working condition. 
    High school diploma or GED required.  Must have knowledge of food and beverage products required.  ServeSafe certificate preferred.  T.I.P.S. certification required.  MICROS operation, including running end of day reports. 
    Must be able to work at a fast pace for several hours. Customer service skills necessary to ensure guest satisfaction.  Must be able to develop strong peer relationships and must operate well in a team environment.  Must have strong oral and written communication skills.  This position requires flexibility in the work schedule which includes holidays, weekends, evening and irregular days off.  While performing the duties of the job, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts.
