Development Associate - Museum coordinates fundraising, membership campaigns, annual fund, and sponsorship initiatives and events. Conducts grant research and writes proposals. Being a Development Associate - Museum administers correspondence with individual donors, maintains donor databases, and provides statistical reports on developmental activities. Typically requires a bachelor's degree. Additionally, Development Associate - Museum typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. Essential Job Functions
Position: Host, President’s Cottage Museum
Department: Social Activities
Primary Responsibilities:
Meet and greet guests, orient them to museum, be available to answer questions
Maintain cleanliness of museum
Be available to give tours of hotel and property
Learn and understand The Greenbrier’s history
Secondary Responsibilities:
Security presence
Some work with Social Activities required throughout the year
Provide information about current resort operations to guests

Normal Working Hours:
Varying days 10:00 to 5:00, April through November, all holidays
Past Work Experience Requirements:
Strong customer service experience
Experience communicating information to individuals and small groups
Educational Requirements:
High School Diploma or G.E.D. required
Course work in U.S. and/or local history helpful
Communication Skills Requirements:
Personal interaction and communication skills very important
Thorough knowledge of the resort’s history is critical
Ability to speak comfortably with a range of people one-on-one and also in tour groups
Required Supervision:
Bunker Tour Manager
Other Requirements:
Requires a high degree of social skills, ability to greet large number of guests and provide them with basic historical information repeatedly.
