Orients customers especially surgical patient / s (and their companions) on health care benefits (HMO and PhilHealth benefits), appropriate discount programs, and respective requirements for these, providing necessary support for the patient’s financial situation.
Assists customers personally with writing and submitting their benefits requirements ensuring accuracy and proper endorsement to the Finance department / Cashier and Billing.
Ensures that all documentation is obtained to enable patients to file for claims and have these claims processed in a timely manner;
Handles customers’ inquiries and concerns regarding benefits (including inquiries and follow-ups from satellite clinics) through various communication channels .
Supports the supervisor with Quality Capability Building and Regulatory Management - Through risk mitigation and quality system management, complies with regulatory guidelines, and ensures capability for review, audits, standardizations, and accreditations.
Processes the patient’s submitted documents and prepares other documentation (such as but not limited to waivers, itemized billing, statement of accounts, and claims forms) before routing these documents to various signatories (Attending MDs, Anesthesiologists and Finance Manager, etc.
Counter-checks all signed claims, providing the needed International Statistical Classification of Diseases (ICD) codes and corresponding Relative Value Unit (RVU) for each diagnosis on every claim .
Provides and explains individualized pre-operative information to enable a patient’s well-informed decision in undergoing surgery.
Examples of information are instructions, consent forms, cost of surgery, and appropriate visual materials on eye conditions and care.
Answers patients’ inquiries on basic surgical procedures and related information; escalates technical inquiries to the appropriate parties or doctor / s concerned.
Effectively coordinates with Rockwell Surgical Counsellor team on surgery schedule based on the availability of patients, doctors, and Operating Room(OR)Ensures preoperative requirements (medical clearance, laboratory tests, diagnostic tests) are complete prior to surgery.
Collects accurately the payments from patients based on invoices; accurate and timely preparation of cash / checks for deposit.
Ensures that the petty cash fund is sufficient / and with a proper buffer.Accurate and timely submission of daily, weekly, and monthly financial / census reports;
accounting system updating (sales and collection).Supports the supervisor with Operations Management - Ensures that all services are functional, complete, and adaptive, and standard operating procedures are properly observed .
