    Job Summary

    The Partnership Development Coordinator provides results-oriented leadership to obtain financial investment and support for Campus Recreation staff, programs, and mission. Responsible for the cultivation, implementation, and management of external/community and campus partnerships for Campus Recreation, the administration of advertising agreements for Campus Recreation and the Illini Union, the coordination of department outreach programs, and the coordination of constituent engagement and stewardship for assigned departments.

    Duties & Responsibilities

    • Partnership Development Responsibilities (50%)
      1. Recruit, develop, and maintain relationships with local and national organizations to enter partnership agreements on a departmental, program, or event level. Work with internal clients and identify opportunities to generate new partnerships. Ensure that a plan for continued client management and follow-up is in place to increase renewals and new business opportunities. Maintain deep relationships with existing and potential partnership clients and exhibitors.
      2. In conjunction with business office and following department, university and state policies, develop partnership agreements and invoices and track payments for all partnership opportunities. Compile information and data in conjunction with monthly, mid-year, and yearly reports.
      3. Utilize appropriate departments to ensure all components of agreements and activations are met to the satisfaction of the department and partner.
      4. Manage Campus Recreation advertising program, including Neptune Radio system, Four Winds digital signage, Trooh charging stations, etc.
      5. Create and implement action plan calendar for all partnerships, event timelines, and special projects. Maintain the digital signage and banner advertising program for the Illini Union.
    • Constituent Engagement and Stewardship Responsibilities (35%)
      1. In conjunction with the Student Affairs Office of Advancement, develop and maintain a plan for stakeholder engagement for Campus Recreation, Illini Union, and McKinley Health Center. Manage engagement activities including regular alumni e-newsletters, alumni social media (LinkedIn, Facebook), special events, and working with departments and Student Affairs Advancement Office in developing targeted programs to support strategic priorities.
      2. In collaboration with the Student Affairs Office of Advancement, develop and oversee stewardship mailings and impact reporting for assigned units.
      3. Coordinate and maintain scholarship processes for assigned units, including working with committee on reading, scoring, selection of recipients. Act as liaison between academic departments, as applicable, students and public to provide information and resources regarding scholarship activities and programs.
    • Outreach Responsibilities (10%)
      1. Register Campus Recreation, Illini Union, and McKinley Health Center for involvement in the campus and community outreach events/resource fairs.
      2. Coordinate and order giveaway items for Campus Recreation, Illini Union, and McKinley Health Center.
      3. With marketing team, conceptualize booths, and train staff to work at outreach events.
      4. Attend selected national conferences to develop corporate and alumni engagement.
      5. In conjunction with other marketing staff, schedule staff shifts for the outreach events.
    • Serve on Division and/or University committees as assigned (5%)


    Additional Physical Demands

    The Partnership Development Coordinator comes in contact with diverse student groups, general public, tenants, all staff in Campus Recreation and the Illini Union, and other departments on campus.
    This position requires mobility and manual dexterity.
    This position does not supervise any other full-time employees.

    Minimum Qualifications

    Specialty Factors

    Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business administration, communications, public relations, or a closely related field.
    One (1) year (12 months) of professional work experience in marketing, public relations, communications, brand management, or a related professional area. Demonstrated experience in communication.

    Preferred Qualifications

    • At least two years of experience in marketing, partnership, or advancement
    • Experience in a campus setting working with students and a multidisciplinary environment.
    • Experience in marketing, sponsorship solicitation, sales, or advancement

    Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

    • Knowledge of basic marketing concepts.
    • Exceptional organizational and presentation skills are a must.

    Appointment Information

    This is a 100% full-time Civil Service 5004 - Marketing Associate position, appointed on a 12-month basis. The expected start date is as soon as possible after 9/15/2023. Salary is commensurate with experience.
